More than 20% of the vehicles on-line are accident and repair vehicles.

We call them price leaders, the idea is to draw you to the dealership to see the low priced "accident and repaired" vehicle, and then upgrade you to a similar vehicle at a much higher price ($2000-$3000 more) that was not “accident and repaired.” This practice is used not only by private sellers (curbsiders) but also by franchise and non franchise dealerships. By law these dealers must declare these facts at the time of sale, and we would like to believe they do.

At Campbellford Chrysler it is our store policy to not carry “accident and repair “vehicles.

We do not buy vehicles from wholesalers or non-corporate sellers.

The used vehicles we carry are from reputable sellers, pre-inspected and declared at the time of sale. We also give our vehicles a second inspection at our dealership and if they do not meet our strict guidelines they are sent back.

Our advise to you is this: If your are shopping our prices (as we recommend) make sure you ask them if the vehicle was “accident and repaired’.

The formula is quite simple, really. When you are a rural dealer your overhead, rent, fixed expenses, personnel, and advertising budgets are considerably lower than bigger dealers.

The cost of doing business in Toronto can be $100,000 - $500,000/yr more than a rural dealer.

These costs are passed on to the customer as a cost of doing business. In an effort to equalize these expenses some city dealers advertise really low prices, but then add on excessive extra charges after you have made the sale. Some examples of this are:

• Administration fees anywhere from $295 to $495
• Safety inspections from $200 to $2000
• Clean air tests from $185 to $295
• Extended Warranty contracts from $495 to $1000
• Signing mandatory maintenance contracts at only their dealership

...and many other extra charges that were not originally disclosed!

In our experience we have seen these charges exceed up to $2500 more than the advertised price.

Our advise to you is this: If your shopping prices (as we recommend) make sure you ask them to include all extra charges so that there are no surprises after you make your deal.
